The division consolidates all marketing, communications and future student related activity into one team, enabling efficiency and effectiveness gains for the University.Functions delivered by the BMR division include organisational wide brand strategy and management, strategic marketing planning, communications activities (advertising, marketing, content, media, public relations); digital communication, reputation management, recruitment planning, business development, school’s engagement, contact centre operations and admissions services. The range of functions delivered are all targeted at managing the University’s reputation and achieving its revenue goals.The Future Students team within BMR exists to provide strategic student recruitment direction and management for the university. The Future Students team also executes a range of future student recruitment activity. Functions undertaken by Future Students include:Reports to: Country Head, China The Regional Manager, China position is based in Shanghai. The primary focus of this position is to support recruitment focused activities in China and to promote UWA and Perth as an attractive and preferred study destination providing students with the qualifications, skills and experiences for excellent career outcomes. Your key responsibilities Reporting to the Country Head, China, the Regional Manager’s role is to support UWA’s student recruitment goals and develop stronger awareness of the UWA brand.With your Manager and colleagues, you will develop and implement student recruitment strategies across China and represent UWA in a range of forums to build the University’s reputation and to attract eligible students to apply to study at UWA.You will identify and recommend new business development opportunities and support, as appropriate, University staff visiting the region.Your key responsibility is to grow commencing enrolments at UWA. In order to do this, you will be tasked to:- Effectively represent the University in agreed student recruitment activities, including education agent events, school exhibitions, and conversion activities, providing written reports on completion
- As requested by your Manager, visit UWA official representatives, providing detailed training on UWA courses, admissions processes, entry requirements and act as a conduit between the agent and the relevant admissions and international agent management teams at UWA
- Provide ongoing relevant market intelligence on trends and opportunities
- Support visiting UWA staff, making accommodation and transportation arrangements, and accompanying staff where appropriate
- Maintain and develop effective professional relationships and collaborate with important partners and stakeholders
Your specific work capabilities (selection criteria) A relevant degree from a recognised university Advanced English and Chinese language communication skills and demonstrated effective presentation skills Evidence of effective interpersonal skills and the ability to form strong and valued professional relationships with a range of colleagues, clients and customers. A thorough understanding of and successful experience in international student recruitment or in related service’s marketing Knowledge of the Australian and Chinese education systems Proficiency in a range of computing skills including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, internet, email and PowerPoint Well-developed planning and organisational skills with a proven ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
Special requirements (selection criteria) Provision of support for University needs will require availability out of ordinary working hours i.e. weekends and evenings Availability to undertake travel in China and at least once a year to Australia This position is open to Chinese citizens or applicants with relevant rights to work in China
