麻省总医院(Massachusetts General Hospital)，建立于1811年，是坐落于波士顿的一家综合型医院。麻省总医院是美国排名第一的研究型医院 ，也是美国哈佛大学医学院最早、也是规模最大的教学附属医院，全美历史最悠久的三所医院之一。Dr. Xiqun Chen’s laboratory at the Department of Neurology, Massachusetts General Hospital is recruiting a highly motivated Post-Doctoral Research Fellow to conduct independent research projects as part of a multidisciplinary and multisite study focusing on immune dysregulation in neurodegeneration in Parkinson’s disease in the context of gene alterations linking Parkinson’s disease and cancer. The postdoc will work closely together with collaborators in cancer biology and cancer immunology to characterize immune profiles in cellular and animal models of Parkinson’s disease and/or cancer and in patient specimens. The research fellow will also be involved in other projects pursuing molecular mechanisms underlying neurodegeneration in Parkinson’s and related neurodegenerative diseases.The position will report to the lab PI on a weekly basis or whenever necessary, communicate with other lab fellows and technical staff on a daily basis, and communicate with collaborators regularly.Primary responsibilities of the Postdoctoral Research Fellows include designing and implementing bench experiments using cellular and mouse models of neurodegeneration and/or cancer or patient biospecimens; data analysis and data presentation; manuscript and grant/fellowship writing; communication and coordination with collaborators. Approaches to be used include genetic and pharmacological manipulation of the targets, behavioral tests, cellular and molecular biology, imaging, RNA sequencing, PCR, Western blotting, immunostaining, flow cytometry, imaging processing, neurochemical analyses, and others.We are seeking highly-motivated candidates with demonstrated experience leading research projects (e.g., first-author papers). Strong writing, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills are desired. PhD, MD, or MD/PhD in the field of neuroscience or immunology, or cell biology, or related science majors are required.
