Job Summary:
The Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for managing and optimizing the sourcing activities of indirect materials and services for Changshu plant, mainly including Capex, MRO, Equipment, Consumable items (Excipients) and so on.
This role entails identifying cost-effective sourcing opportunities, negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services while maintaining high quality standards.
The Indirect Sourcing Manager will collaborate with various departments to understand their needs and develop strategies to streamline the procurement process and reduce costs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Develop and implement sourcing strategies and policies for indirect materials and services, including but not limited to maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) supplies, equipment, facility services, and outsourcing services.
2.Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on their ability to provide high-quality goods and services at competitive prices.
3.Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers, ensuring favorable pricing, quality, and delivery terms while mitigating risks.
4.Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to foster collaboration, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement.
5.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and finance, to understand their requirements and align sourcing decisions with business goals.
6.Monitor market trends and supplier capabilities, recommending alternative suppliers or technologies to optimize costs and improve efficiency.
7.Conduct regular supplier performance reviews, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and develop improvement plans as needed.
8.Ensure compliance with relevant procurement policies, procedures, and regulations, including ethics and sustainability standards.
9.Drive cost reduction initiatives through supplier negotiations, process improvements, and value engineering.
10.Coordinate with internal stakeholders to review and approve requisitions, purchase orders, and invoices, resolving discrepancies as required.
11.Generate reports and provide data analysis on sourcing metrics, cost savings, supplier performance, and other relevant information to support decision-making and performance evaluation.
Qualifications:
1.Bachelor's degree in technical or engineering, or a related field.
2.Minimum of 10 years of experience in indirect sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in engineering and manufacturing industry.
3.Familiar with die casting equipment, injection molding machine;
4.Strong knowledge of sourcing best practices, market trends, and supplier evaluation techniques.
5.Excellent negotiation and contract management skills, with the ability to drive win-win solutions.
6.Proven track record of achieving cost reduction targets and process improvement initiatives.
7.Proficient in using procurement and enterprise resource planning (ERP or Oracle) systems.
8.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
9.Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
10.Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
11.Knowledge of die casting industry processes and technologies is preferred but not mandatory.
